General Conditions

MadeToMeasureCurtains4u are dedicated completely to customer satisfaction and we intend to provide you with the best possible service. If you have any comments or suggestions, please email us at sales@curtain4u.co.uk.
When you use the MadeToMeasureCurtains4u website, you are agreeing to be bound by and comply with the following terms and conditions. This agreement does not affect your statutory rights. The content of the MadeToMeasureCurtains4u website is subject to change without customer/user notice. No warranty or guarantee of the information and products is provided by MadeToMeasureCurtains4u or any third parties. Your use of any purchase from this website is entirely at your own risk and MadeToMeasureCurtains4u cannot be liable; you must bear the risks which are associated with use of the internet and internet retail. Unauthorised use of our website is a criminal offence and any offender shall be prosecuted by the law. These Terms and Conditions; along with your use of this website; are governed by English Law and as such you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the English Court. This does not affect your statutory rights. If you would like to know more about your statutory rights as a consumer, you may wish to consult your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau.
We may change these terms from time to time without notice to users and customers. Changes will apply to any subsequent orders you place.

 

Curtains & Measurements
For made to measure items please make sure that your measurements are correct as we cannot accept a return of these items due to their bespoke nature. Any goods shown on the MadeToMeasureCurtains4u website are displayed and described to the best of our ability, but please bear in mind that certain colour shades may display differently on different computer monitors and may not turn out to be a fully accurate representation of the actual fabric. Due to this issue, we recommend requesting a fabric sample for made-to-measure items.
We are always prepared to offer advice on the goods that we sell, such as advice about installing a curtain, blind or rail and we will take reasonable care in giving you any advice. All sizes are approximate. Curtains and tie backs are sold by the pair; other accessories are sold singly.

Payment

MadeToMeasureCurtains4u accepts payment via VISA Credit, VISA Electron (Debit), MasterCard, Maestro and Solo cards. On the payment page you may be prompted to enter a 'password protected identity checker' which is to help retain your card's safety online. For more information, consult your card issuer. All payment transactions are made through a secure server hosted by SagePay. When you make an order on the MadeToMeasureCurtains4u website, you will receive confirmation email of your order and of payment; one from ourselves and one from SagePay. This is to indicate that we have received your order, and that payment has been received. Due to the nature of internet retail, your card is charged the full amount at the point of sale. For the most part, our items are ordered in especially from the supplier for your order; please bear this in mind when calculating delivery times.
In the case of a customer ordering a product that has been discontinued yet is inadvertently still available for purchase on our site, one of our team will get in touch as soon as possible to arrange a refund or a similar replacement item, and any extra payment or refund that may be incurred.
We have a strict online payment policy – we do not accept payment over the telephone unless you are having a problem navigating our website or completing the payment process. In this case, we ask you to telephone us on 01902 399764 and speak to one of our team who will either help you resolve the technical issue or take payment over the phone.

 Tax Charges

For all orders, the price indicated as due from you is inclusive of 17.5% VAT. If you require a VAT receipt with your order, please state that you do in the “Description” box during checkout and we will endeavour to make sure that your request is met.

 
Security and Privacy

We have teamed up with SagePay (formerly Protx) to ensure that your credit or debit card details are handled with the utmost security.
All transaction information passed to SagePay’s systems use 128-bit SSL encryption to protect your data “in transit,” and any messages from SagePay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent unauthorized access. No cardholder data passes unencrypted or in any kind of non-secure manner. Once the data is on SagePay’s systems, 256-bit encryption is used, an internationally recognized standard. Your card details are not held in clear text in ANY website.
In the unlikely event that MadeToMeasureCurtains4u do have to handle a hard copy of your card details, they will be destroyed immediately.
In order for you to place an order with us, you will need to enter your name, address and telephone number; along with credit card details and any relevant security information. Please rest assured that this data is handled with the greatest of care. By placing an order with MadeToMeasureCurtains4u you agree to let us hold your personal information on file; this is only accessible by our staff. As required by the Data Protection Act 1998, we follow a tight security schedule to protect your data from unauthorized access. If you are concerned or unsure about any information that we hold about you, please contact us to let us know your concerns.
MadeToMeasureCurtains4u only disclose buyers’ information to third parties when it is necessary for an order to be fulfilled. These third parties will not disclose your information to any other organisations. We are dedicated to protecting your privacy, and we do not sell, trade or rent any of your personal details unless given express permission to do so. The information that we collect is done so lawfully and in Accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. More information on the Data Protection Act can be found here. No personal information entered by a user is stored by any organisation other than ourselves and the SagePay system.
In the event that we cannot accept payment for an item due to security concerns regarding the card used, we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible to try and resolve the issue. In extraneous circumstances, we will inform you of our intention to cancel and refund the order in the most direct means available. It is also for such security reasons that we reserve the right to cancel an order with no prior contact made to the customer in question.

 
Handling and Delivery

Curtains4u take orders from Mainland UK, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, Eire, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. We do our best to process all orders immediately. Our preferred couriers are DHL and Fastways. All MadeToMeasureCurtains4u orders for delivery to Mainland UK, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man in excess of £50.00 total value are delivered free of charge. For orders below this value there is an additional charge of £7.99 to cover carriage and handling. We also deliver to the Republic of Ireland but charge £14.99, although this is free if the order value exceeds £100. We now ship to the Channel Islands, though though we use Royal Mail rather than a courier. We charge £14.99 to ship to the Channel, this is free if the order value exceeds £100. We DO NOT ship to any other part of Europe or indeed the World.
Delivery times will vary from product to product but are usually 7-10 working days if in stock. Please remember to take the additional 1-2 days that our courier may take to deliver the parcel. Of course, goods are subject to availability.
All orders will be delivered through couriers and must be signed for upon delivery. If you are unable to attend the delivery address at the time of delivery, you may wish to leave a note in the “Description” box during checkout from our site and we will endeavour to leave instructions with our courier, though we cannot guarantee that these will be heeded. These instructions could be, for example, to leave the parcel with a specific neighbour. Please be aware that upon delivery a signature is required. If our courier tries to deliver your package while you are out, and no other instructions are given, a card will be left giving details of your local collection point. You can contact this collection point to arrange a new convenient delivery time or call and collect the goods yourself.

MadeToMeasureCurtains4u will not be liable for any consequential loss due to a late or failed delivery.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Please note that we have strict policies regarding returns; especially regarding made to measure and altered items along with sale items, which cannot be returned unless faulty.

Any other product can be returned, though we reserve the right to charge and administration fee of 10% for non-faulty items returned. Unfortunately, we cannot accept non-faulty curtains back once the header tape has been pulled at all. We request that you contact us by email or telephone within 7 days of delivery before going ahead with any return as returns need to be authorised by one of our staff before anything is sent back to us; please contact us on sales@curtain4u.co.uk or 01902 399764 with your delivery date, order number and reason for return and we will get back to you with instructions on the best way to proceed. All items must be returned in the same condition they were sent, with all packaging, labels and tags still intact or where possible, attached. Please enclose a note stating your name, the order number and the reason for return.

Returns where the goods are faulty…

After you have contacted us, we will arrange collection of the items via DHL from your address. If you prefer, we can arrange collection from an alternate address. As soon as we receive the goods back, we will either reimburse you or arrange for a replacement.

Returns where the goods are not faulty…

We reserve the right to charge an administration fee for returns where there is no fault. We will retain 10% of the total charged for any faultless returns. Non-faulty returns must be returned to our offices at your own cost. In this case, return postage and packaging are entirely the responsibility of the customer, and its safe delivery is the customer’s responsibility until receipt by us.

If you have returned an item stating it to be faulty, yet our team cannot find a defect with the item, the goods will be returned to you; however, we will nonetheless try and assist you in resolving the problem.
Your right to cancel your order is in addition to your other statutory rights.
If you fail to return the goods to us they will remain your property and no refund will be given.
In the unlikely event that you place an order with us but receive the incorrect item, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can arrange the return and for the correct item to be sent. You may contact us within 28 days of the delivery of the incorrect item(s).
In the case of refunds, your credit or debit card is usually reimbursed within 3 to 5 business days from the refund being processed by us as the funds take this time to clear. If we have offered to refund you any amount, but there is no sign of it within a week or so, please get in touch to make us aware of the situation. We can only refund to the card with which you used to place your order.
